This
is the website of LawWorks, also known as the Solicitors Pro Bono
Group, a charitable organisation dedicated to bridging the gap
between volunteer lawyers and individuals seeking legal advice in
England and Wales. Established in 1997, LawWorks has been connecting
volunteer lawyers with those who need legal assistance but lack the
financial means to hire a solicitor.
LawWorks
also collaborates with not-for-profit organisations, including
charities, voluntary groups, and social enterprises, providing them
with much-needed legal support. For small not-for-profit
organisations, LawWorks offers a special Not-for-Profits Programme,
enabling these groups to access free legal advice on various matters.
One
of the programme's features is a series of short online videos, known
as “Free Talks”, presented by solicitors. These videos address
common legal issues faced by small not-for-profits. Eligible
organisations can also benefit from free legal assistance for one-off
issues such as contract drafting or lease reviews, as well as
longer-term support.
By
engaging with LawWorks, you gain access to a wealth of resources that
will bolster your legal knowledge and professional development. The
organisation’s extensive library of reports, publications, fact
sheets, podcasts and training materials ensures you are well-equipped
to tackle various legal challenges.
Furthermore,
LawWorks provides a platform to connect with like-minded
professionals dedicated to pro bono work, allowing you to expand your
network and learn from experienced practitioners. The opportunity to
contribute to not-for-profit organisations and individuals in need
not only enhances your practical skills but also instils a profound
sense of purpose and community service.
Moreover,
LawWorks recognises outstanding pro bono efforts through the LawWorks
and Attorney General’s Student Pro Bono Awards. This accolade
underscores the importance of your contributions and showcases your
commitment to justice and community support.
I
am deeply honoured to have been LawWorks & Attorney General
Student Awards 2012 finalist for my blog site:
https://artistsvsdeathpenalty.blogspot.com/.
This recognition holds great significance for me, particularly as it
supports such an important cause—the fight against the death
penalty. Each piece of artwork submitted by the participating artists
represents not only their individual creative expression but also a
collective stand against injustice. I am immensely grateful for this
acknowledgement and for the opportunity to raise awareness on this
critical issue:

In
conclusion, engaging with LawWorks is not just about enhancing your
legal career; it’s about joining a movement that values justice,
compassion, and social responsibility. Whether you are just starting
your journey or are an established legal professional, LawWorks
offers a fulfilling avenue to make a significant difference. Embrace
this opportunity to grow, connect, and contribute meaningfully to
society.
