This
is the website of 10,000 Black Interns, an essential resource
designed to address the underrepresentation of Black talent across
various industries in the United Kingdom. This programme collaborates
with organisations spanning over 35 workstreams to provide invaluable
opportunities for Black students and graduates.
Founded
in August 2020 by Michael Barrington-Hibbert, Wol Kolade, Dawid
Konotey-Ahulu, and Jonathan Sorrell, 10,000 Black Interns set out to
secure 10,000 internships for Black graduates across 24 sectors and
industries in the United Kingdom. The legal sector is a key
participant, with nearly 50 leading UK LLPs and over 70 Chambers
offering internships.
The launch of this programme received
generous support from Capstone Investment Advisors, a global
alternative asset management firm, and it continues to thrive thanks
to the voluntary contributions from participating companies and
organisations.
By
exploring this platform, you will find workshops on crafting
compelling CVs and applications, as well as access to career fairs
and recordings of past events. These tools are tailored to equip you
with the skills and confidence needed to excel in your applications
and interviews. Moreover, the initiative's focus on bridging the gap
between talent and opportunity ensures that you have the chance to
shine in an industry where diversity is crucial yet often
lacking.
Please note that this programme is set to run for the
next five years, with the ultimate goal of providing 10,000
internships to young Black individuals. Don’t miss out on this
incredible opportunity to join the movement and gain valuable
experience in your chosen field.
In conclusion, joining this
programme offers more than just an internship; it offers a pathway to
meaningful professional growth and the opportunity to be part of a
movement towards a more inclusive legal sector.
